:: Layout for Hobbyworld august challenge ::

At the last minute I managed to get my layout for this challenge done! I have a hubbie at home with a broken arm so it´s not easy to get some alone time to create!

This month the theme for the challenge att Hobbyworld was Summer. 

 We bought a mototboat a few weeks before my hubbies injury. The photo of Viggo with the wind in his hair on the water and the sun shining is really summer for me!

 My background has many layers with Gesso, mists and different stamps. Really fun to make!

 I usedf flowers from Petaloo and Wild Orchid Crafts, chipboards from Blue Fern Studios, rhinestones and metal embellishment are from Prima.

:: Hobbyworld challenge July ::

I created a layout for Hobbyworlds July challenge. This month it was a sketch drawn by Katja.

I used papers from Blue Fern Studios. I cut different strips and used my sewing machine to add even more texture. I also used a stencil from Tim Holtz and lots of different paint and mediums.

The title is from Crate Open Book Collektion. The cute fabric buttons are also from the same collection. 

I painted my pretty Chipboards from Blue Fern Studios with paint from 13 arts.

Cool texture!

My flowers are from Prima, Papirdesign and Wild Orchid Crafts.

:: One more for Hobbyworld May challenge ::

I also made a layout after Hobbyworlds May challenge. It´s fun to see how different the finished projects turned out. I used lot´s of different Mixed-media techniques on this page. As background paper I used a paper from Blue Fern Studios.

 I used a bunch of tags and a frinche from Heidi Swapp. The Rhinestones are from Papirdesign.

 I also used a stencil with Gesso over. Then I spryed with Dylusions mist and dripped some Acrylic Ink with water. I used a circle stamp from Prima and Embossing Enamel. Last I added some rub-ons from Tim Holtz and doodled a bit. A really fun layout to make but really hard to take good photos of it! I hate when this happens!

:: Fun card for a challenge ::

I made this card after Hobbyworlds May challenge. This month it was a sketch. 

I really liked the sketch and tried to create a fun and whimsical card following the sketch.

 I picked up the pattern from the cupcake and mixed striped and polkadot printed papers.

The fun die-cut with nested circles is a die from Memory Box die. It´s called Loopy Rings and I bought mine at Pyssloteket. 

 The stamp is a digi stamp from Mo Manning and one of my favorites! I colored the stamp with Copics and added some glitter with my Zig Wink of Stella. On the loopy rings I added red Stickles.

:: Hobbyworld March Challenge ::

Finally a layout! Tonight I just decided that now it´s time to make one! I tried to just make it and not over think how it turned out. I made my layout after Hobbyworld March challenge. This month it was a very nice sketch.

 I took this photo of Viggo at my hubbies 50th birthday. He looks so smart!

I have used lots of fun embellishments from Crate Maggie Holmes collection called Open Book. For example I used Vellumd Shapes, Fabric Brads, Chipboards and Stickers.

 I have mixed both old and brand new flowers from Prima. I bought my new Prima Flower Collections from Pyssloteket.

 I used a white extra thick Cardstock and then I misted with Prima Color Bloom. I used Pressed Petal, Iris and Gilded. I also used fun stamps from Prima. 

:: Tutorial Box Folding ::

There are many good tools if you want to make boxes. For example them from We R Memory Keepers called Punch Boards. But sometimes when I want a box in a very specific measure I like to use Marta Stewart Crafts Scoring Boards. For the box I´m showing today I used the Martha Stewart Mini Scoring Board. Decide hos large the base of your box should be and how high your walls need to be. Cut a paper where you have added all your measurements. Score around your base or bottom.

Cut as my image shows in your scored folds. Use a Bone Folder when you fold up all the edges.

I like to use doublesided tape when I make boxes. It attaches immideately and don´t wrinkle the paper.

Make the lid the same way taht you did the box. You need to add about 4 millimeter and make the edges a bit lower. I usually make my edges 1,5 centimeters.

My Scoring Board is in inches so if I need to measure in exact centimeters I only use a ruler. I put the ruler at the vertical end of my paper. Then I fit the paper so I score at the right spot.

Now my box is finnished and the lid fits perfectly! It´s also room for paper that I want to embellish my box with.

Measue all edges on the box and cut out the patterned paper. Attatch with doublesided tape. If you want nice and neat corners dress the long sides of the box first as my photo shows. Then you cut the paper for the short sides and attach them a little bit overlapping.

Now we have a box with a nice outside but I always embellish the inside of the box also. You get a steady box and you can also hide small flaws from the folding. And of course it looks very nice!

I measure and score to get nice corners for the inside of the box. I also use the same technique with the overlapping pieces as I did with the outside of the box.

Alrighty! Now we have a handmade box.Very easy and very personal.

:: Box with mini cards ::

Who wouldn´t love to get a box filled with love cards?! I for sure would love it!

I folded my box myself and will have a tutorial how I make them next week.

Here are all cards from the box . I made eight cards and they are a bit smaller than my usual size on cards. They are 10,8x7,5 centimeters.

On the black one I used a embossing folder from Crate paper and a vellum sentiments. On the right card I did some fussy cutting and cut out the house from one of the papers,

Gold is so in! And I love gold together with black! All my emebllishmnets comes from Crate Paper Open Book collection. On the right one I used striped tape.

Over to two cards in a little bit softer and more romantic color scheme. Lots of layers with stickers, die-cuts and rub-ons.

The two last cards are a bit more cool and whimsical. I like the black that really brings out the other colors.

:: Hobbyworld February Challenge ::

For February the challenge at Hobbyworld is to make a love or friendship card. But you are not allowed to use red or pink for your card! I made a card in blue, black and yellow.

I used flowers from Prima and the leaves are from Crate Paper.

For my background I used dies from Spellbinders. I added the black to make it even more masculin. I also like how the other colors pop when you add a litle bit of black.

To get a nice shadow behind my word I die-cutted the word also in black.

:: Prima Vintage kit for Hobbyworld::

I really love to go a little bit wild and crazy on my backgrounds. And thento  add some romantic details to the wild background makes it so cool! Here I used a Vintage kit from Prima.

I´s no secret that I´m a huge Prima fan! Here I mixed a Prima die-cut with flowers from Prima and some black leaves from a Martha Stewart punch.

It´s fun to add some other embellishments than flowers to the clusters. Here I used a dressed brad from Crate Paper.

This photo is taken back in summer of 2009 and I think I have used it ten time on different layouts! Me and my hubbie had the moste amazing summer together with Viggo and I cherish all my memories from that time in life!
